80104? IIRC this was overhauled quite recently and I thought was now slightly into its second ten-year stint? 80078 perhaps...?

80104 returned to service in 2006. 80078 was withdrawn from service in either 2009 or 2010. 80105 was withdrawn from service in 2010.

Galatea maybe this year? I'm sure we wont know until it's out on a test run but would be nice to see a green Jubilee in steam again in 2011.

Galatea had better be done this year, the Jubilee website (not updated since 2008) said she'd be done by 2010. No one on the inside at Carnforth will reveal anything so we don't really know why she's been delayed and possibly overtaken in the queue by Tangmere

I'm sure the owner will appreciate your comments.Perhaps you may like to send a cheque for say £200,000 to speed up the overhaul/enable to financier to hire in other owners locos whilst 45699 takes priority other other locos in the fleet.

lets not be too hard on Carnforth..eh ?... afterall they have overhauled 48151 and 44932, repaired 46115 thrice, and mid-overhaul of 34067 this year as well as various maintenace and looking after their diesel fleet... oh and there the UK's predominant stock provider...
it's not as if theyve had a quiet year !

As D7076 says.. get out your cheque book and I'm sure it'll speed up.

suspect 34027 won't happen, but 1501 might, and maybe an outside chance of 813

Don't forget, Galatea is a huge job. Looking back at the 20, 25 and even 30 year old magazines in our mess room, back in the 80s and 90s, it seemed quite common for loco restorations to run years late, and to no ones great surprise

Could it just be because Tangmere is a paying job ... ?

    Don't WCRC have a share in 34067?

I wasn't aware I was having a bash at Carnforth. :confused1: Just a passing comment on the current state of affairs regarding the info on Galatea, regardless of where it may be kept, not with intent to cause offense or provocation. Talk about putting words in someone's mouth....

I think you could possibly add B1 61306 to the list of retirees - I think it passed its out of frames hydraulic test in late 2001, but then again it has done relatively little work, so might well get an extension.

Another one I don't think has been mentioned is 60009, "Union of South Africa", which I think is supposed to return this year.
