It's a bit more subtle than that - it mentions that 43924 is one of 2 "F4"s preserved - so what happened to the other two?

Pretty sure that 5764 expired 31/12/2010 and that was after a months extension. Currently being repainted for display at the Engine House it's last workings being at the WSR Winter festival.

Going to be a year for Light Pacifics then!

You've put a question mark by 263, but I'd suspect it's probably more likely this year than 847. Work is progressing well but the "last few weeks" of a big engine overhaul often seem to take rather longer than the "last few weeks" on a small engine!

The .com Bluebell Railway website is saying that tomorrow is the last day in service for Fenchurch, at least the last rostered day - the ticket runs out in February.

As mentioned before 5786 a stalwart of the South Devon Railway fleet bows out this year, though hopefully to be replaced by recently aquired 6412. Which is currently the first patron of the newly created boilershop at Buckfastleigh.

34039 Boscastle will not steam this year as it's boiler has had no work carried out on it and will be returned to Loughborough for overhaul, looking likely to return to steam in 2012/2013.

Although not that sexy I think the return this year of TR No.2 with its new bolier to a more original design is worth a mention considering that it is the 60th anniversary of the TRPS and therefore the preservation movement as a whole. Without the TR I am sure the preservation movement would have developed although if the TRPS had failed there would have been delays and second thoughts to many of those that initially followed. But the TRPS showed it could be done and for that they were reliant on a very decrepid TR No.2 and its retuen for the 60th anniversary should in my view not go unnoticed

Thinking of the narrow gauge scene is there anything coming out of Boston Lodge or Welshpool's workshops this year? Is Linda going to be running again this year?

Re Kwvr based "returns", while 4f 43924 and coal tank 1054 will be back this year, I think it is very unlikely we would see either 5820 or 34092 city of wells this year.

    Kind regards

Fenchurch is doing Footplate Experience at Sheffield Park this weekend according the Bluebell website. I presume after that it will be withdrawn. 80151 was due out of service this year but thats been withdrawn already after its problems at Giants last October by the looks of the latest Bluebell News.

Bluebell News also has 263 returning this year along with 323. The Maunsell Society bit says its tight to get it ready next year (though at the time of it being written could refer to 2011) and they are waiting for 323 and 263 to emerge before it enters the works
