This weekend seen the debut of GWR 2-8-0 3850 run in BR Black for the first time since overhaul, the loco now has a taller original chimney compared to the Hall chimney it ran with

Michael, some great photos of the GCR. 3850 looks great in black and with the correct pattern chimney! What's the problem with 6990? Is it just a matter of waiting for an overhaul or is there something more serious with this loco? I remember seeing it at Toddington as a visitor a few years ago now.

Cheer's they're Clive Hanley's photograph's! 6990 Witherslack Hall is waiting for an overhaul, started at Tyseley but for some reason it came back home, It's rods I believe are on 4936?? The overhaul will be started once 46521 is finished either in June or July, by the Loughborough Standard Locomotive Group.

Thanks for the pics. I think 3850 looks stunning. Well Done. I see on your fotopic that the Y7's smokebox is being done there? I thought the boiler was at North Norfolk? Can't be far off running?

    Sorry to go off topic.

    Cracking photos!

The smokebox for the Y7 (NER H Class to some of us) is actually from 1310 at the Middleton Railway. THe overhaul is comnig along well and the loco shuold be in traffic later this year.
