I am Ralph with my partner. Looking forward to it. I wonder if any changes to route or loco's will be made. I remember in the early 90's a Jubilee was deemed too large to fit the Hope Valley. We ended up with an Ivatt class 2 on the Hope Valley Centenarian. Has this altered since then I wonder? Will be 45 years since a Jubilee ran over the Barnsley branch.

I cannot see the need for any changes. Leander went to Buxton via the Hope Valley on 29 April 2006 on a 5305 Association special run by Vintage Trains and a Black 5 went the same route from Dore a matter of weeks ago.

Why's it not coming through Barnsley anymore? I was really looking forward to see Leander pass through for the First time, well that i know of. Is the route changed due to gauging or pathing issues does anybody know please?

These timings which were previously on UK steam have now been removed. Anybody know why and / or if a set of revised times are to be published

The RTC site shows a reversion to the original route?

The RTC web site shows the original route and timings, UKSteam was updated with the revised route, basically running in the reverse order, ie Sheffield on the return leg instead of on the way out. One would suspect further operational changes meaning another retiming.

All should be revealed soon as to timings and route, just have to be patient ! I keep wondering why the route change from advertised one. The route through Dewsbury is difficult getting a path I have heard said before. The train needs to be facing south on the approach to Wakefield if it is to get on the Barnsley branch. New route avoids Barnsley running up the Dearne route. Even this may be different on the day !....

The times I have seen show Grindleford-Sheffield-Swinton-Moorthorpe-Hare Park-Wakefield-Hebden Bridge-Manchester? Possibly not finalised yet though.

I have pulled the times from uksteam.info as I understand that there are further changes. - That's one of the risks of posting the times too early !

Thanks David all now explained. Personally I prefer you post them early and change them if there is a need, as in this case, rather than not post them at all. Thanks for all your hard and demanding work in continuing to maintain the uksteam.info website.
