The Severn Valley is about to undertake substantial (and expensive) engineering works during the first quarter of 2011, with the line only operational between Bridgnorth and Highley. Following the most informative "Floodlines" issued in 2007/8 reporting the rebuilding of the line after the flood/storm damage, there are now going to be engineering updates in the form of "Mudlines", the first of which is available here:

I think that the SVR should be congratulated as a whole for the improved communication that has happend this year. Certainly much better than it used to be. Well done everyone!

Mudlines 5 now available on the SVR VLO website. Good progress being made due to favourable weather.

In particular the extent of rebuilding undertaken at Arley station can be seen.

SVR services resume on 12th February, but only between Bridgnorth and Highley. Full line services due to recommence on 26th March.

Mudline 6 now online as before. Shows further progress at Arley, and concrete work at Bewdley South viaduct.

They're certainly getting on with it! Good for them, both for the progress on the work and keeping everyone informed.

Mudline 9 now online. Progress at Arley, and completion in sight--at least on the civil engineering side--at Bewdley south viaduct.

Was there a particular reason for using steel sleepers between Victoria bridge and Arley station?
