One of the diesels I have some nostalgia for. I remember clearly the prototype Deltic passing through Rugby on trial. It seemed to me that a little bit of America had arrived on our shores, with it's styling. I just wish Royal Scots Grey was in it's original green livery, the blue to me is very wishy washy.................

IMHO a Deltic is the only diesel worth getting out of bed for. I do think she looks rather tasty at the moment but I still prefer the two tone green with small yellow panel.

I have to say, from a passenger on board, the Edinburgh trip on the saturday was incredible. Fantastic machine (I agree with spamcan, Deltics are the only diesels worth getting out of bed for). And on a note of max speed permitted, I don't know, but we clocked it doing 105mph just north of Berwick on the way north...

OK thanks, but I do know that some if not all WCRC steam drivers do drive diesels as well, on the other hand there are diesel drivers who don't do steam.
