Yes - a great trip with some fine running especially the dash back from Milton Keynes that sadly was missed by the many who left the train there. Wembley Central was the place to be! It was also good to see UKRT, DBS and the Duke team working together to manage the timings and water stops. Seems as though Network Rail must have helped as well. Such a change, so well done to all and thanks.

The tour was re-timed at the last minute so was only only about 10 late into Birmingham International but was still a quick water stop

Loverly shot Tom, without the wires and the bright light that could be 50 years ago.

Lovely shot Tom - almost looks like it is outside with the roof area in dark shadow.

    Regards,

Nice work Matt. Have to say that deltic thingy looked very smart leaving Preston with the engine room all lit up. Credit to its support crew.

Just thought that myself Iain, a really good ploy that, make sure everyone can see the engines etc. which look spotlessly clean. A real credit to the team that maintain her.

How ironic, 71000 ran unassisted yet all the diesel tours had an extra box on the back. In the last clip of the Deltic leaving Preston the 57? seemed to be doing a load of shoving as well.

Don't think the Deltic had any assistance - 57601 is used as a mobile eth unit most times it goes out - just the same as what was purring away in the rear coach of 71000's train. Sounds like it's assisting but it's very noisy when supplying eth. (Deltic eth supply not ideal hence the 57).

Particularly on air con stock, Deltics are very good at knackering the lights with their ETH.
