Can anyone tell me if 7005 Sir Edward Elgar ever ran with a Hawksworth tender? Appreciate any info - (I have not seen a photo of it with anything other than a Collett type)

The first time I ever went to London - on a school trip from my primary school in 1962 - we travelled in a reserved coach on the "Cathedrals Express" hauled by Sir Edward. We were very excited as one of our teachers was Miss Mary Elgar - his Great Niece. However, I did not notice what the tender was!

I'm pretty sure it ran with a Hawksworth tender in 1961. As soon as I find a photo, I'll confirm this.

Confirmation of the above post. The cover photo of Chris Leigh's book "The heyday of Old Oak Common and its locomotives" is a shot of 7005 passing Westbourne Park goods depot in September 1960. It is clearly paired with a Hawksworth tender.

7005 (as Lamphey Castle) ran with 3 different Hawksworth tenders between Jan 1950 and July 1951. After renaming in August 1957, it again ran with a Hawksworth tender (no 4120) from August 1960 after a Heavy General repair at Swindon, until December 1962.
