I've uploaded my photos onto the RMWeb forum:

More record shots of the first Saturday, but the ones at Minehead didn't come out too badly.

    Regards,

    Dan

Looking forward to this weekend, we have Day rovers for Friday and should be around Saturday/Sunday.
Should have the same black/blue coat on unless its scorching.

    A few corrections.

The tender that Braunton was running with belongs to Port Line as she is also owned by J Hoskins. See http://www.34046braunton.co.uk/res/34046 BRAUNTON history.pdf

The Manor at Minehead is 7828 Odney Manor. Dinmore is in bits at Tysley and Bury.

Looks like I'll be driving down to Taunton this Sunday for another stab at photographing the locomotives and have a ride behind those locos I failed to do last Saturday. I bought myself a new camera to replace the one I lost, so I'll be guarding it with my life (not that I didn't guard the lost one with my life, but it still managed to give me the slip)!

Absolutely fantastic gala so far! We've both really enjoyed all three days so far. A couple more hours in the morning and its back on the long drag to Sunderland :/

The weather has also been superb! We luckily got the day off from Uni on Thursday due to the strikes so we came down earlier than planned! A 1am start was a little too early especially when we'd only had two hours sleep at that! The trains have ran to time, a good selection of engines have been presented and generally a great gala. The highlight for me was the appearance of 6024, a fantastic credit for getting it arranged at such short notice.

Video etc... in the pipeline as I forgot all the wires.

I got back late last evening from the gala, and most enjoyable it was too. It was noticeable that there were fewer visitors, particularly on Sunday, and it was very noticeable that there was no activity at the S&DT site at Washford. Why was this?

    Regards

  19. Glad you enjoyed the event.

With Kilmersdon out of action, no activity was planned for Washford for this event.

It may have had something to do with another fairly nearby railway having moved their spring gala to clash?

Personally, I enjoyed this event. Quite often the home-based WSR fleet are nominally part of the event but some may only get one round trip over the entire six day period. This time around, everything got a turn, even 5553 which did a passenger round trip on Thursday as well as several appearances with the freight. It was great to see it, 4160, 9371 and 88 joining in the fun.

70000 looks stunning in black. And as for 2807, what a superb loco. Looking forward to seeing it at "The GR8 Escape".
