On behalf of John F Kennedy and myself we are pleased to announce Pitchford Hall will now be making a fleeting visitto the Mid Hants Spring Steam Gala on the 25-27th March. It has been arranged at a very short notice as it replaces 6024 which was unable to arrive at the railway due to Network Rail pathing issues.

She will only be in steam at the Mid Hants for one weekend only, so be quick to see her before she returns home to the Great Central Railway.

I will be there as she will be a "cop" for me. You have certainly made a lot of people in the South very happy with the loan of 4953. Thanks to both of you, Michael and John.

The MHR must be congratulated for finding a replacement so quickly and its still a GWR loco to continue the theme of the gala.

Big thanks must also go out to the owners of Pitchford Hall for allowing their loco to attend the MHR gala.

Pleased to see that 4953 has been secured by the MHR as a replacement for 6024. The 6024 support crew were disappointed not being able to renew friendships with the MHR team following their previous visit.

We were only to happy to help the Mid Hant's out and send 4953 to help them out. We hope they look after and enjoy having her and for her crews to enjoy working with her as we do.

Here's a video from the recent gala with 4953 in action

I was lucky enough to get rostered out on 4953 saturday afternoon, she was a supurb engine. I have now been out on an original Hall, a hall with walschaerts and a hall with roller bearings and high running boards. :)

Off on a tangent slightly, but is the 4953 website going to be getting updated more as last update was March 2007!
