About 1h 40m late at Metheringham. Stopped ahead of station & xing for a few minutes. Having to work hard at getting away again - making heavy smoke & steam. Very slow thro'
Meth station. Still making smoke & steam. Came to halt again when clear of station. Diesel making noise on passing thro station. Poss brakes binding? 34067 having to stop periodically to allow diesel brakes to cool down??

Arrived Lincoln 150 late. Lost 50 minutes between Sleaford and Lincoln alone according to sources within NR.

Does anyone know anything about timings for the return run, and if indeed Tangmere will be involved at all?

Be very surprised if anyone does at the moment - it'll require a new path.

Sounds as though she's been left on her own ! Could well get some clear runs and make up some time, hopefully for those on board. The eta for Basingstoke if not is about 01.00 ; Horrible; a long day. Come on girl, show us what you can do.

Best of luck for that thought - a train that late won't be regulated in favour of anything.

34067 has now failed at Connington with a hot box and will be left there. The replacement diesel will take the train back to Peterborough, run round, then take the train onward to Basingstoke. I hate to think what time they are going to get home tonight (or tomorrow morning) now.

She's still at Conington siding. Watering finished but now they have uncoupled the first coach from the second and pulled her away. The rest of the train has departed to the north but I don't know what is pulling it.

Tangmere failed at Connington Loop. Reason unknown. Loco and support coach taken off and spending night at Haunted connington! 47 to haul rest of train back to pboro and run round, passengers on train have option to use east coast to london. Tangmere is not having a good day

Tangmere went through Peterborough going towards Lincoln at 13:44. 47500 went through Peterborough to the yard at 17:19 and at 19:44 towards London. Tangmere went through Peterborough towards London at 19:56. Tangmere has now got a crest on the cabside as well as the bodyside.
