Anyway, it will be fun to chase her around the GWR mainline on 17 September :car: - only 5 months to wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not going to be able to see her until July when she goes from Lewes to Ely but that depends on when my College course has finished as the trip she's on is on a Thursday (and I'm ment to be starting College at the time she's due at Haywards Heath.

Though the provisonal timings on SD website are a bit optimistic.10 minutes to get from a standing start at Haywards Heath to Three Bridges (which are apparently boarding points) Most electrics only just do that journey non stop (or without a stop at Balcombe) in 10 minutes.

Mind you I feel for for you Steve having to wait until September.

Still at least when I wake tomorrow I will hopefully see some pictures.

Thanks for that she looks stunning. First valanced A4 out of Kings Cross since the early 1940's.

My pleasure. Didn't Mallard ever venture out of King's Cross in preservation? If not, I am very glad I made it in time this morning to see her! :)

I think steam returned to Kings Cross in 1994 with 60009. Mallard did work out of London but I think it was Marylebone. But well done on getting to see her :)

I think you're spot on with that. Can't recall 4468 out of KGX during her brief return to the main line. In 1994 60009 was the first A4 out of KGX since October 1964 when she worked the "Jubilee Requiem" (I think) railtour.

I think 60009's trip went from Kings Cross to Wansford on the Nene Valley.

Correct. The first sold out so quickly that a repeat was run the following day. Managed to get booked on the second run.

Smashing, thank you, hope to see her in about an hour's time, not far from here.

I do note sadly that someone in on of the mags is now "disgusted" at the livery change and is cancelling his main line trip with her as he wanted to go behind a BR green A4. I wish people would just be glad we stil have her to enjoy...

I do despair about some people. What difference does the colour make when you're on board? If that chap doesn't want his ticket then he can give it to me. Green, blue, sky blue pink - it will sound the same.

I saw that too, i couldn't quite believe what i was reading.

Dominion of New Zealand looked absolutely fantastic when i saw her, although she caught me off guard when i left Kings Cross on my way to Harringay, i was expecting to see her on the ECS into Kings Cross. As it happens she arrived earlier than i expected and only a opportunity to get a wonky picture through the window of my train.
