Ah well, one less idiot to worry about then!

The engine does look good in it's new livery and makes a nice change compared to 60007 and when 60009 was running.

Unbelievable! Talk about cutting of your nose to spite your face! Still, one more seat for the rest of us to fight over!

Sheff, if you read the letter, it's 6 seats he and his mates have booked. Can I sit next to you? ;-)

    Utterly bonkers!

Just because of a lick of paint, he'll have a long wait for 60009!

Judging by where the writer lives its the trip that I'm planning to see at Haywards Heath in July (the writer comes from Hailsham which is where my Grandad lives and is not far from Lewes where that trip starts). It got me a bit angry. I agree just be glad to enjoy the loco. Judging from the same issue 60009 will be back in the Autumn

Of course, I'd enjoy that immensely I'm sure! I'll bring the beers, you can supply the pies ;) Just let's hope she gets a few starts up our way.

Sadly I can't see your image. I've got the white box with the x through it.

Funny that, I'm writing up a retort to that very comment to send to Heritage Railway!

Given that in more or less a year, there will be a Garter Blue A4, an Express Passenger Blue A4, and a Brunswick Green A4 on the mainline, surely one of each livery is more than acceptable?

Everyone seems to want their cake and eat it all the time...

I did think about replying to that and one made in last months about 4472 about being repainted wartime black and authenticisty. Don't think I will. As you say we'll have 3 in steam and 4492 in garter blue, 60007 in BR Blue and 60009 will be in Brunswick Green. Everybody's happy then.

Saw it coming through Peterborough, and I have to say absolutely fantastic. And those who are moaning about not having a Green A4 is unjust - for how long have those of us wishing to see a Garter Blue one on the mainline had to wait whilst they have been in BR liveries? Next year we will have a representative of each of the main liveries, everyone should be happy then...

I also saw it today and have to say what a fantastic sight. Congratulations and thank you to everybody who played a part in making it happen!

Much as I like A4s without valences, it's great to see an operational A4 with them. Variety is the spice of life and undertaking this work now gives 60019 a unique selling point - hopefully the increased interest will lead to more bookings.

My joke headlines seem to be partially proven correct then! You've got to laugh at them I suppose. I'm looking forward to seeing Bittern in blue over the next 3 years.

I have half an idea that either 4468 or 4498 was taken into KX at 02.00 one morning in the 1980's with a diesel pilot as part of a positioning move (poss York - Marylebone?), diesel was detached, phots taken, dragged out again by diesel.

Not a big fan of A4's, but she does look nice like that. First time ones been seen in full Coronation garb (Mallard was a different variation of the livery) since 1940 ish.
