Cheers. I think someone is filming the loco as I've seen 3 videos with the sound of a helicopter. Once at Welywn, then again at Doncaster and in another at an unspecified location. Doesn't Jeremy Hosking have someone who films Bittern on railtours.

Anyone know how 4492 is progressing back south to York?

If the footplate crew see fit to report it thats up to them, for everyone else there is no sense in bringing tresspass to the attention of all and sundry. Thats my thought anyway.

My thoughts entirely. We all know it happens but highlighting the problem may make the outcome worse for us all.
If it's possible to ask those trespassing not to, I believe we've done our bit to help solve the problem.

Ok seems I made a mistake putting that up then. Lets get back to the trip. I'll remove the video linked and words.

Anyway back to the loco, I'm not a big fan of all things Doncaster and Darlington, but did catch it at Ferryhill on my way back from the NYMR. Loco looks beautiful.

The only times I've seen the helicopter filming 60019/4492 were on the debut of the second tender last year and today. On other occasions I've seen the loco there has been no aerial accompaniment. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I think it was this type of filming the camera man was fined for recently. That was 60019/4492 and something in the magazines said it was likned to Jeremy Hosking and DVDs. Don't think it's often, I travelled with Bittern last year with 2 tenders and double heading with 5029 (another Hosking loco) and there wasn't a helicopter then and most videops's I've seen other than today haven't had helicopters.

I don't think you did make a mistake Dan - its turning a blind eye to trespass that will lead to problems for the majority who stay the right side of the fence and everyone else who enjoys mainline steam .

That's interesting, it stood on KEV bridge for a couple of minutes because it was early and had to give way to a Carlisle bound train and then followed a Trans Pennines unit into Central.
I suspect he was accelerating away from his stop so the acceleration must have been quite something in the station.
Also saw 4492 reverse and propel coach over KEV bridge, did it stand in the station or did it hide in a siding for 30mins?
Both engines looked spot-on to me, attracted a lot of attention from the Redheugh Bridge.

Perhaps you are right, pathing must have been crucial at that time then. The Pacer must have set off as NG was arriving in the station or earlier.
Anyone else note the WCRC 47 following at a discreet distance behind?
    Good tactics I thought.
