Do you know if it's taking the avoiding route at Didcot rather than running through the station?

That explains the 40 minute timing between Didcot & Reading I mentioned earlier then. Any reason for the Cholsey stop? Bearing in mind it has already had a 20 minute water stop at Hinksey.
I would say it is taking the Didcot avoiding line, timings between the two Didcot junctions are only 1-3 minutes. Also no mention of Didcot Station in the timings (also people at Didcot Railway Centre would not see it properly!)

Gorgeous sight accelerating through Tilehurst at 10.41, blowing off & whistling. Quite a crowd there as well. Would of took the video camera but the sun was in the wrong place.

buseng, was that you just sent the text update telling us it had passed Theale at 19.41?

If so, which direction was it heading in ????????? Were you at Theale early waiting for tomorrow's train?

No, not guilty. I was there but had a bit of trouble with the phone trying to send the update (someone was talking to me distracting me), in the meantime someone else must of sent it as I received it myself. Like this morning there was quite a few there - I sent this morning's message from Tilehurst though. It also got me wondering! Did you send the one from Cholsey at 19.31? Cheers to everyone who did provide updates during the day. Hope to be at Theale tomorrow though.

Just posted my video of Britannia passing Didcot and 6024, from my vantage point on the train behind 6024 on the demonstration line.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZHaiOU8t7Y

They went a bit mad with the whistles :)

Not the most brilliant video quality as I was having to shoot straight into the sun, but one has to suffer for one's art!

Just back from a very enjoyable trip. Highlights were from south of Banbury to Leamington arrived 10 minutes early on the way to Stratford, Standard was on the front ( I was in the second coach) and the loco was quiet compared to Cromwell. On the return we have a very noisy departure from Stratford and that was front the 12 and last coach!
I sent a number of updates including one from Cholsey.

I, too, took a few piccies of Britannia today but, so far, have only had time to put a couple on the www. One from this morning at Didcot, and one from this evening at Cholsey. Anyone interested in seeing them is invited to click here :

The rest will follow tomorrow or during the week depending on other demands on my time.

70000 approaching Westbury Lane bridge, west of Tilehurst, with the return trip yesterday evening. Frustratingly, the light had been brilliant the whole time I was there, but of course for 5 minutes it clouded over.

This is the second time I've gone out for 70000 and got seen a stunning sunset, only to fail to get a decent shot of it.

Not the best video in the world, 70000 passing Langley station last night before the rain started. I could still hear it for another couple of minutes, so probably until it passed under the M25 at Iver.
