We must of almost finally met! I was also stood in the farm crossing recess. Were you the person with what looked like a small monitor on a stick on top of the gate?

Thankyou. First visit to Sonning Cutting other than travelling through it but not my first visit to Royal Berkshire. I will venture west again tomorrow for a blue King.

That was me, that's my iPhone which takes the videos that I post. Were you the man with the canvas hat, whose elbow can be seen in my clip? The one who described the 47 as "a box"? I did wonder if that might be you......

Finally, to anyone who went to see the LE move tonight, it passed through Tilehurst at 18.59. About 20 mins early.

No that was not me, I was slightly behind you on the station side with a white t-shirt & black track suit bottoms with red stripes. No hat but going bald! I was talking to one of my ex work colleagues & his Mrs. Sorry, but if I had realised who you were, I would of spoke. I was about to text the departure but someone beat me to it. Wonder why he was talking about the 47, it wasn't in the frame at that stage. Add, just watched your clip again fully, didn't realise the 47 was following. I was gone by then.

I think it shadowed the whole trip for that reason, also probably done thae Penzance-Plymouth leg. As mentioned earlier it was attached to the train at Reading do to lack of seperate path.

We were told onboard today about the Great Britain V. The plan is to run from Kings Cross to Edinburgh where the train will split. One half will travel via the West Highland to Fort William and Mallaig while the other half travels via Inverness to the Kyle. Passengers then swap trains with coaches across Skye and both sets return to Glasgow where they will rejoin. A trip down to Stranraer is then followed by a run south from Glasgow via Beattock and the S&C to Preston. It will then via Chester to Bristol and onto Penzance. Return from Bristol to London is via Gloucester.

Nunney Castle reported passing Slough at 18:33 with 5Z67 Southall to Tyseley, bringing the curtain down on a very successful Great Britain IV railtour. <BJ>

    Third time lucky!
Friday's GB4 for me was twarted by traffic around Herefordshire (are VW fox's limited to 20mph?). Saturdays Cath Ex was a bit to tame for my liking :( Thankfully today 'Nunney Castle' restored my faith and here's the video to show why.

    Morning All,

I popped over to Theale yesterday and got a couple of shots there, plus another couple at a road bridge a couple of miles up the line towards Reading :

We could hear her start from the water stop and she certainly sounded great.

Out of interest, was that the Burghfield Road Bridge?
