Many thanks to all those who came to enjoy the Cambrian gala. The event was blessed with great weather and it was a pleasure to have 9017 taking part - a fine engine and thanks to the kind folk at the Bluebell for allowing it to visit us. One of the highlights( there were many ) had to be having 9017 at Totnes in time to see 45305 and 70013 pass by on the Saturday. It was also nice to get Glendower out on show having spent a few hectic days giving it a fresh coat of paint - just over week before the gala the loco consisted of a bare boiler sitting on the frames!. A great event and we are at it again this coming weekend when Thomas visits, then at the end of the month when we have the West Country Branch Line gala, plus our very first cider festival at Staverton. Plenty of interesting things going to be on offer at this event, more details in a week or two....

Green engines have names - she was probably disappointed that the engine was LMS and black :)

Is 9017 going back to the Bluebell now?

My thanks are to the South Devon Railway. I visited the railway on Saturday after following the Great Britain railtour from Bristol.
The gala was so good that I stayed until the final train. A wonderful railway blessed with wonderful weather. <BJ>

It should have gone back to the Bluebell this week, however delays with the transport now see it remain until next week. The loco will be on display during the Thomas event this coming weekend.

The unofficial website www.sdronline.org.uk have just put up a gallery of 70 pictures from the event. Haven't seen some of these locations before.
