She was in the same place when I went past on 26th April. Looked superb outside in the car park on the 21st though, confused me as I had no idea what it was!

Probably a stupid question, I don't know that much about the mechanics of steam locomotives, but will 7000 still be able to take part the Cathedrals Explorer on Saturday? sorry if this is an obvious question!:sorry:

UKsteam.info shows 60019 as a possible alternative, which implies to me that although 70000 has not (yet) been withdrawn from the Cathedrals Explorer, there is some doubt about whether she will be available and so a substitute has been lined up. I don't know when they have to make a final decision, but I guess it must be at least 48 hours beforehand to allow for lighting up and routine inspections. 70000 is due to move from Southall to Carnforth on Friday, so I guess they need to make a decision tonight or first thing tomorrow.

If 70000 is not available for the northbound leg on Saturday then it is almost certain that she won't work the southbound leg on Tuesday, and quite possibly not the York - Stratford trip the following Thursday either.

In any case, this discussion probably belongs in the Cathedrals Explorer thread under "What's Going On"

She's replacing Tornado on three trips. London (or Guildford) to Bath and Bristol on May 26th, then a Kings Cross to York on June 4th and a Paddington to Shrewsbury on June 11th

Thank you, hope they manage to fix 7000, although having already seen what a beauty 4492 is, I really don't mind!
