    As of the weekend, 80072 was already wearing the 80116 smokebox number plate, while stabled a 100 yards or so from what is reportedly the original boiler fitted to 80116 (laterly from 80135).

    The Thompson CL is being repainted back into BR maroon this week and will run with the NER BC from Beamish.

    I recently paid for the download of the program on the nymr website. Somehow, it has been deleted by a ghost I must have roming the house and now I am with out it. Has anyone got information on what locos are running what trips on Weds or Thursday to save me spending more cash? Would be gratefully appreeciated.

    Having just read the loco changes on the NYMR Forum I don't think the loco allocations are going to be much use...

    Trouble is it's the only real spot and to remote, and coming out of the sun! All facing south sounds better to me, as 45212 facing north will mean in practice no one will see it as you have to miss so much to get out there for one shot.

    Hence why people object to paying for them!

    I'm happy to pay £3 for them, it contributes towards the cost of the gala, NYMR staff were handing out updates free to people carrying the internet version (like me) and included with the glossy brochure purchased on the day.

    Printed at 8pm last night, thanks for all the hard work that goes in to them !!

    Will be my first trip back to the NYMR in a couple of years - many reasons. Previously I did not have a car, but now I have. Can anyone recommend good places to go and see the engines in full steam. IE not at a station. Thank you in advance. :)

    The areas North of Goathland around Darnholme offer brilliant views;

    Cross the line at Goathland station and walk north along the footpath, and you should reach this viewpoint...

    Aswell as this vantage point, which can be found further along the footpath towards Eller Beck along a steep ridge

    I'm going to the event this weekend, is the timetable still valid, particularly with loco/stock allocations?

    As of this evening, rolling stock is all where it is meant to be!

    Sadly, it seems 63395 is unlikely to play its planned part in proceedings. 825 is substituting on the next couple of planned usages. Not sure whether there is a day when use of both is planned!
