Has anyone got the correct times for this for Reading please? The times on uk steam for this location are slightly adrift. I could probably roughly work it out.

    Wokingham 10:49
    Reading New Jc 10:34 ?
    Reading 10:15 ?

    Didcot East Junc 11:32

Let's all wish Clan Line and her team the very best for this trip as it was on this run a year back that things went horribly wrong on the footplate.

Looked splendid today, as usual! And the diesel on the back was the Royal Train loco 67005 Queens Messenger, which looked quite nice :)

Anyway, here she is arriving and departing from Ascot, with some nice whistle and a couple of small wheelslips on departure:

Saw her at Cholsey (my first ever MN) - looked superb. Photo on my website later.

    First ever MN! (Shock).

But welcome to the club. It is addictive you know.

Didn't follow it myself. Not 100% fit at present.

Yes, bit of a record today - beat my Father into seeing a MN. He never managed to get to the Southern Region before steam finished - a bit too far from Glasgow.

Interestingly though, having only ever seen LNER 3 cylinder engines I struggled to pick up the Bulleid 3 cylinder beat. Not helped by the engine not working very hard on the GW mainline.

Phew, can uncross fingers now then. I'm so pleased it was a good trip, since this was the same excursion that Clan Line failed on last year, and within a week of the same date. Since her comeback she has performed immaculately, and also always looked like new. What a great loco.

Well done on your first Merchant. I've had 2 great trips with 35028 plus seen it a few times on VSOE's like today. Incidentally Saturday Kitchen this morning had the VSOE feature on their lookback at a Masterchef. I think I've heard reference to it before.

Also nice to see 35028's reliablity appears to be back. Great work by the MNLPS.

It looks a right treat - I know how long it takes to get a steam engine clean and the MNLPS must work very very hard to get 35028 looking like it does.

I'm looking forward to seeing it a few more times this year (hopefully). Today was just opening the account!

Indeed, nothing has it easy out of there towards Reading, slight uphill, slight curve, heavy trains, a.m. dews and frosts, it's the place for more drama than you get at the Royal Theatre! :drama:

Most of the time Clan Line just breezes along without a care in the world! The best place to see/hear her working hard is up Gomshall bank on the VSOE luncheon circulars, then the sound is quite distinctive. First two minutes of this clip show it well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSXhG5Wf750
