    So it's going from Bury to York on 26th for unveiling at the NRM, and then back to Bury with tender for running in? Is that right?

    That's why I asked for timings as we've only got the day when it's leaving Rileys.

    And that's how it will work, we're in the hands of hauliers, traffic, blown tyres etc. It is nigh on impossible to give times when moving stuff by road I'm afraid.

    Not long now....
    Has the chassis and boiler been reunited yet and how long will it b on display in York, before some light engine trials? Looking forward to seeing this one back :D

    A sneak preview shows it, to all intents and purposes, as virtually ready, but probably needing a top coat of paint or varnish.

    I would have thought that wartime black was a very basic matt livery.

    Yes, I stand corrected, had a look......well I've learnt something today, the tender is indeed matt, no wonder muck stuck to it!........together with other wartime camouflage colours things must have been very drab, no wonder we had all those different colour schemes after the war
