I am hoping this event will see my first visit to the NYMR. Few on here will find this surprising, but I have had excellent reviews on the line! So intend to put right my lack of attendance at any previous event :)

Do the NYMR make the Diesel Gala timetables public beforehand or send them out with pre booked tickets? (or neither?)

Thanks for this information. Should be able to order one the same time as the tickets then as I notice they have an online booking system.

Yes I was, but failing that the times of the first and last trains departing/arriving into Pickering will help with the overall planning.

Apologies if the original question causes any controversy, certainly not intended at my end

D6515 cleaned Monday and FTR'd Tuesday. Looks absolutely great and should match it's performance! Hope it performs just as well as it does at Swanage!
Scheduled to leave Swanage around 0900 on Wednesday, to pick up 73136 at Stewarts Lane (1351-1420), before going onto Barrow Hill (1848) to pick up the rest of the visitors.
Thursday departure is 1025; York around 1210; Middlesborough 1425 and Grosmont 1553.
Return on 19th is 0940; Middlesborough 1214; York [pathing stop 1320-1402] and Barrow Hill 1601. 20th departure (with 73136) is 0850; Stewarts Lane (to drop off 73136) 1351-1420 coincidentally; Swanage arrival 1900-ish.

So if a website was providing free but unofficial tickets for a Gala event, would it be okay to use those and prevent the Railway in question getting the proceeds?

    Same thing really

    No its not.....

By charging for the loco diagrams is seen as a rip off and gives the railway bad PR.
Look at the railways that dont charge for the diagrams. Do they get bad reviews etc? No.

You dont HAVE to charge for the diagrams. In fact I would go as far as to say that by charging for the diagrams actually puts people off and therefore the railway looses out.

Would you go to Alton Towers (and such like) and not want to know what rides were available?
    I dont think so.

The diesel guys like to know what locos are on what services. Do they start their day at Grosmont or Pickering.

So my advice to anyone running a gala for the first time, produce the diagrams in advance as its good PR and can be used as an advertising tool.
