For all the Terrier fans, today my Dad and I took some photos around the Orpings Curve location at the K&ESR's Last Train Commemoration event. I think this is also the first time in preservation that three Terrier's have been together in all matching BR lined black livery. I've just uploaded the photos to my web gallery and the links are below.

yes they do look good , for some reason i always think that the lined black suits theses locos very well , im hoping that the powers that be dont decide to put No3 back into KESR green till a couple of years time

Wish I was there, nice event, but can't be everywhere at once. 36662 is due to visit Bodmin in a week's time, so should be doing some hard work on the gradients there.

I think I remember reading in The Railway Magazine a couple of months ago that 32662 was due to stay in lined black only until the end of the year. But due to a high level of loco loan requests it may stay in BR livery longer now.

I can live without it for a couple of years but it would be nice to see No. 3 some day in its 1947 green livery, without namepletes but with 'K&ESR 3' on the tanks.

lovely shots thanks to everyone who put them up on here,

now i have a request to make can i ask for a copy of one of the pics of 32670 to add to my scrap book and one for meg who did the sign writing also one of the P class as both have been repainting projects that i have undertaken for KESR and i dont have any pics of either which is a shame, i never seem to be about with a camera at the right time , i did take some whilst i was painting 32670, but they never were any good, mostly because of the poor light inside the shed

Wonderful news Martin! I'm happy to wait a year or two, to give you a break from the rubbing (and the black does look good too!).

I think it was reported in one of the railway mags last month, can't remember which one, and it said it was going to be a 10 year restoration job. But there were quite a few of us surprised to see the GWR tank arrive at Rolvenden yesterday.

"A new loco is coming here, although you won’t see it running for a while yet. Our Board have agreed to allow a “Barry Wreck” a former GWR 2-8-0 no 4253 to come here for restoration by an owning group amongst our working membership. It only needs a cool £350k to restore it but there is already a commitment from a number of folk to buy shares. The sooner the money is raised, the sooner it will be fit for traffic. Realistically this is a 10 year+ overhaul. Our website will have details on how you can become a shareholder in this project."
