Up to date statement from ELR General Manager appeared today on the ELR web-site.

    See www.eastlancsrailway.org.uk under 'news'

Understand that the loco arrived back at the ELR last week, went straight into Riley & Sons and will emerge when its ready. No doubt at the appropriate time the NRM/Riley & Sons/ELR will advise details.

Maybe Gordon will make a special appearance at ELR's next Thomas event. Wouldn't you just love it?

the ELR website update is helpful and shows that they will publicise running in details when known, which has to be good news for everyone.

Now that she's resplendent in black, can we have the "Witte" smoke deflectors on and the wheels and frames painted red? Perhaps, also, a renumbering as 01 1106 on one side, with 012 106-1 on the other. I suppose a single chimney would give a nice Germanic bark, when starting off.

    Duch und weg!

... and perhaps you'd like a conversion to oil-burning just to improve authenticity ? :flypig: :flypig:

What a missed opportunity for the railways that run War weekends. Just imagine this pseudo-kriegslok arrives at Bury Bolton Street station with a train load of German soldiers and their officers, a plot for a channel 3 pseudo-docu-soap! Even better, a blue police box on the platform, with you know (Dr) Who emerging! Perhaps I could get a job as a script writer? (Don't give up the day job just yet!)

I heard at weekend that it is unlikely to be ready for trials until August. Still quite a bit of work needed yet apparently.

No problem. I'm currently thinking over if I have any funds left this month to send a small donation. My heart goes out to Steve Davies and the NRM team, such a blow when you're close to the finishing line.
