The Cornishman (from what I understand) is now fully booked. As far as I know all/most of 5029's trains last year were fully booked too... great stuff! I'm glad that she manages to pull the crowds despite being somewhat overshadowed by the "celebrity" locos. :)

Not to put an anti-dampener (!) on this but what has been the rain situation in the SW recently?

If you're worried about fire risk you can forget it after what we've had in Plymouth in the last couple of hours. If it stays like this the only reason a box might be needed is with loss of traction on wet rails.

Good luck, Ben and all the gang. I hope the old girl is in fine fettle. Encourage the drivers to use the whistle, please! ;-)

Hoping, and I'm sure it will be, that this will be corrected and sorted by Sunday, but at the moment trains cancelled between Plymouth & Bodmin Parkway as DMU 150123 has been derailed at Liskeard Station. Sorry, no further details at moment.

Doesn't sound too serious - derailed at crossover and trains appear to be running again but delays of up to 60 minutes (single line working?). The problem may be if NR decide to close the line on Sunday to repair any track damage.

D9000 has set off 2 lineside fires either end of Whiteball Tunnel.Exhaust fire. How could a lineside fire start after all the rain we have had down here??

    Does this affect tomorrows steam????

I'm not surprised. Steam has been banned southbound via Yate for more than 5 years due to a low bridge at Cam & Dursley.
