I recently travelled on the Central Wales line having not been that way for a few years, I was horrified at the miles of 'green corridor', no view just this rush of trees and bushes, sometimes hitting the sides of the coach, and just the brief glimpses of the scenery.

Couldn't agree more. The splendid long distance views on this line are all but gone.

Didn't realise that some people will do anything for a reflection shot, including parking their car in a flood............

Too many trees create a mono-culture that is anything but good for wildlife. Cleared areas create habitat for wildflowers and grassland which is far better hence why you see so many Kestrals, Buzzards and now Red kites hunting our motorways. In fact Motorway verges have some of the best wildlife habitat in this country creating continuous green corridors through urban areas.

Can not agree more about the Heart of Wales line. One of the best times to travel now is in the winter when all the leaves are off the trees. I am amazed Arriva put up with the vegetation catching rolling stock, the tight approach curve into Craven Arms is awful. All the units have scratches down windows and paintwork from this.
