    Hi,
Have just been informed that NR have just discovered that 70000 is too long to run round at Yarmouth so the train will run Norwich - Yarmouth diesel hauled with 70000 on the rear. 70000 will then work the train forward to London. Makes you wonder why it took NR so long to discover the problem although a posting on another forum suggests it's enthusiasts who are to blame. No, I can't work that one out either.

Presumably this means the diesel is going to be tagged on the back all day.

Possible for it to follow the tour light engine I suppose.

I suspect those times were posted before the problem was discovered but I'm only passing on info received so please don't shoot the messenger. We'll find out soon enough on Saturday what's really happening.

If anyone is out photting this, can I ask a favour please.

If possible, can someone take some photo's of 70000's support coach please, preferably when stationary but not essential, and PM me. It's abit of a project I'm about to start and need some photographic help.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Ian

Report from a friend on the tour confirms diesel leading to Yarmouth with 70000 on the rear.

Good to see this wonderful old engine back on her old stamping ground.

She was going well up Ingrave summit when I saw her this morning.

    Welcome home 70000.

First time 70000 has been out of Liverpool Street since the early 1960's? Now all we need to do is get both her and 70013 to do it on the same day...

    Regards,

    Dan

Brings back one vivid memory for me, on September the 17th 1960 as a 11 year old, returning from a family holiday at Butlins in Clacton I was hauled by 70000 from Colchester to Liverpool St.

    Hi,
Couldn't get out for this one so no pics to share this time I'm afraid. How's the Sentinel?

I was wondering if you might be on the bank.

Sentinel is going well, I was hoping to meet 70000 with her but lack of a fireman prevented me doing so.
