Oddly enough this is one of the few classes of main line tender locos for which all have steamed in preservation. I don't count the classes where only one of the class survived. Manors were lucky in that a total of 9 are still with us out of the 30 built.

Another interesting fact is that 75% of the survivors are based on two railways. Again disregarding one off survivors, I don't think that applies to any other class of steam loco.

    1 Didcot 7808
    3 SVR 7802,7812,7819
    3 WSR 7820,21,28
    1 Llangollen 7822
    1 Paignton 7827

so 6 out of 9 which by my maths is 66.67%

Ok lol I added it up wrong - left off 7808!!! However dont think there is any other class where so many members are based at two railways (correct me if I am wrong!)

S15's; if you group both the Urie and Maunsell versions together, then of the 7 survivors 86% are based on 2 railways (Mid Hants (2 Urie/1 Maunsell) and NYMR (3 Maunsell)). The only other extant example is 847 (Maunsell) at the Bluebell.

Alternatively if you just want to include the Maunsells, then 80% of the 5 are at 2 railways.

Sorry Pete! Although I'm slightly scared at my own 'Statto' post...

Thought there were 3 Standard 4 tanks at the Bluebell; 80064, 80100 and 80151?

    What about Castles too?

Tyseley have 5 based there although Defiant is on loan elsewhere, Didcot have 2, Crewe has 1.

    some approximately mad statistics...

100% of Stanier Moguls are at the Severn Valley :)
0% of V1 tanks are in the UK :)
60% of the original 71000 is still part of the locomotive, whilst 5% is in York and 35% of used to be a 9F.
you could say 105% of 71000 still exists..
1% of 6399 still seems to exist and has run in preservation (even if only a few weeks).
Flying Scotsman is only 60% of the the preserved LNER A1/3 fleet.
33% of a V2 still exists outside Doncaster station unpreserved
    45551 could be 1% Turkish, 1% Jubilee, 30% Crab, 1% LNER

as this thread is about manors... 55% of them are not Great Western, whilst maybe 40% of the GW ones are not genuine Manors, but 43xx's
Statistics can be such wonderful things and yet still meaningless.

Yeah but the std 4 tanks don't come close to the manors as there are 15 survivors dotted round the country!

How did you come up with 5? Not these days!!!, 7029, 5080, 5043 and 5029. If you were including 7027 then that is in Watermans care - mind you that is a number still with 4!

And for a few weeks we had '7800' itself re-created because 7827 ran as Torquay Manor on the Paignton-Kingswear line earlier this year. Reverted back to its true ID now, but nevertheless still looks super in BR black!
