UKSteam are still showing this w/e's first tour as 'loco to be advised'. I'm guessing it'll be 46115 as it's at Carnforth at the mo & the steam portion of The Lakelander is setting off from Carnforth. Anyone got any info? Thanks.

If you are chasing the Lakelander on the Cumbrian Coast this Saturday you might get a chance to see Avro Vulcan XH558 as its scheduled to be doing flypasts at both Southport and Windermere Air show on the Saturday, therefore following deduction it will be flying over the Cumbrian Coast Line somewhere. No times published as yet.
    Regards
    Andy

Once we find out the times I'll publish them here, but last time she did Windermere first, then held over Morecambe bay for 10mins or so before skirting Fleetwood & following the coast to Southport, then she headed a little North again to cross the Pennines North of Manchester.

I understand that the loco for tomorrow's Lakelander should be 48151. It will be carrying a wreath on the smokebox in memory of Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway stations manager Dave Jenner, who passed away in May. Dave was instrumental in bringing in charter trains to the "Ratty" and was the railway's liason with the various charter operators, (as well as the relations between Ratty and First North Western/Northern Rail) in addition to organising the onboard ticketing and leafleting for railtour passengers travelling on the Ratty.

I've been informed that 44932 is on a test run around the Carnforth loop next Thursday after some recent work to the engine.

Update - 1 1/4 hr late at Arnside!

Arrival at Ravenglass was about 70 minutes down. Return departure from Ravenglass has been rescheduled to 1645.

Departure from Ravenglass was at about 1650, whistled away by several R&ER locos.

48151 reported as doing what it does best... setting Cumbria ablaze!

2N60 1525 Carlisle - Preston (via Barrow) dep. Bootle at 1813, 65 down... presume the fire(s) is/are somewhere in this general area.

Despite the late running on the outward run, which was caused by a problem by the Class 47 at Rhyl. The tour itself was a great day out. The 8F performed excellent and gave a memorable performance along the Cumbrian Coast.

The return leg was smooth, which resulted in us catching the lost time & arriving back on schedule between Altrincham & Chester.

Huge thanks to Statesman Rail for their co-operation & hospitality throughout the day. Hope the remainder of the tours go to plan & that they run them again next year.

He wasn't too far away and passed on very useful info from the station at Grange. Thank him again for us.

I wouldn't expect them to run next year. Issues beyond WCRC and Statesman control.
