definateley looks like an assortment of cardboard packaging associated with refreshments. It is totally unacceptable and the perpetrator needs stringing up.

Its not just unacceptable - it is a criminal offence.

I was thinking of going out to see this tomorrow as it is the first time this summer that it falls on a day off for me. The forecast isn't good though, wind, rain and hill fog! Does anyone know what is running tomorow please? I still might go up to Helwith Bridge depending on how it does actually turn out.

    Thanks, Neil.

Hi Neil , I have been told it should be 46115 and I hope it is as I will be on board but dont like the sound of that weather forecast much though . If anyone else is on board I will be hanging out of coach G .Regards Steve I have just had a text message saying it will be 48151 tomorrow.

Thanks for the info Steve and the later update re 48151. Now it depends on the weather! Wind and showers ok, wind and persistant rain may be not worth a 100+ mile round trip!

    Thanks again, Neil.

Edit, looking at the weather, I think I will be staying at home! Have a good trip Steve.

48151 departed 15 down from Preston in dismal weather bearing a "Railway Modeller Fellsman" headboard, with the driver sporting a high vis orange waistcoat. Neither aspect contributing much of a 'heritage factor' image for the paying customers waiting to board.

I doubt that the 'average paying customers' who populate most of the train give a fig about the orange waistcoat or headboard. If they see and hear a steam locomotive up front they have what they expected.

Bags of 'atmosphere' in the shot though - you can almost feel the dampness - nice and sharp too. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely atmosphereic shot - well done

I wasnt venturing too far from the car today in the dismal conditions hence some bridge shots from Hougton.

    3 pictures from here - http://www.steamingnorth.com/displayimage.php?album=127&pid=4122#top_display_media

Hope the weather improves for the return

Glad there are some brave souls venturing out there, but the results are certainly worth the effort.
