Information for any photographers/videographers thinking of going out for this tour.

Sunday will be the wettest day known in Christendom, forget the Met Office, this has been verified by me whilst planning to go out and film the tour :)

We who live down in the south west are used to a little bit of rain and will not be deterred.

I hear Lamiel and Cromwell are currently setting fire to the ECML south of Donny?? Not good....!

No idea on how severe, although a gen report says fire brigade called to "multiple fires" and that no other traffic is moving.

I think the fact Lizzie has reportedly suffered an earth fault at Scarborough is the reason for the train being diesel hauled on the return.

I wonder if that means Britannia will work the first leg, from Waterloo, tomorrow? If so, what does that mean for the Westbury - Newquay section? Britannia could turn at Westbury OK, but there won't be much time for cleaning the fire or other servicing, unless they are re-timed to leave Westbury later.

Reported elsewhere on this forum that 30777 is to be roaded to GCR for attention.

OK - so there's a problem with 777 and I'm pleased that it is going to be sorted out. But at the risk of being seen as wise after the event, how on earth did 777 get passed to run with an apparent defect....and given its prestige run on Sunday, couldn't we have expected something a bit more rigorous in the preparation? Sorry but I do have a vested interest in getting steam out of London tomorrow. That's not to say that I don't recognise there are bound to be people behind the scenes in WCR/SD trying to get a solution....or I hope so!
