If it is only 1 rake of passenger stock it will look more of a photographers gala than a passengers gala; which will be a shame; won't bother with the 360 mile round trip for a single rake of passenger stock versus 5 locos sadly.

    Hope I am wrong.

Whilst it may annoy the purists, there is always the option for air braked locos to haul the continental stock as the second passenger set.

Surely there must be more than one passenger rake out? Otherwise there would be a less intensive service than on a number of normal service days. And with 5 engines due out each would only get about one passenger outing per day. Use of the continental stock wouldn't bother me.

Any news on the likely timetable? I'd really like to go to this gala, but if the services are too far apart I don't think I will bother.

No timetable yet. I would have thought it will probably be released around next weekend.

Just wondering about the three minutes run round time at Yarwell Jct?

    1015-1018 (71000)
    1140-1143 (4936)
    1415-1418 (44422)
    1650-1653 (44422)

Could 73050 do 1645 round trip as it doesn't get a solo run to Peterborough that weekend?

All the best for what should be a great weekend.

Next year might produce a second rake of mk1s.

At the last gala they top 'n' tailed to Yarwell, then uncoupled the Yarwell facing engine when they got back to Wansford. I'm not saying they are doing this again, but it would cut down the stop time significantly.

I know they do that at the diesel gala, but it wasn't obvious from the WTT that these trains are top and tail.

    Thanks for that
