Hello Anna

This will give you a bit more info on the stop at Hinksey:

It's a video of The Hogwarts Express stopping there last year for water on its run towards London, shot from the station carpark footbridge. As you'll see, it crawls into the loop, then the loco stops pretty much out of sight after passing the bridge. On its return, again it stops at the same point, as they use a hydrant near the end of the road in the industrial park there. You can't get much of a view there as it's all fenced off.

So, southbound, if you want to see the train accelerating away from its stop, the Grandpoint footbridge is the place to be. Northbound, either the carpark footbridge or the station itself.

Weather tomorrow might not be too bad. Cloud map from the metoffice here http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/wm/wm_forecast_irsat.html - remember to select Saturday!

I presume the semaphores at Moreton-in-Marsh did not survive remodelling? (stranger things have happened!)

Ben has posted the following on Facebook

"We are scheduled for Paddington P8, but we are not going into that one.

Also, be prepared for us to be a bit early - not "Bristolian" early, but a bit ahead neather the less."

Just checked the weather before leaving home, and now they say it will be cloudy with heavy showers all day. Thanks a lot guys!

Elsewhere reported to have left Tyseley on time.

In Worcester on time after a short wait at my Up Home. A friendly wave from the driver as I watched from the box. :)

Just subscribed to this on Railtours Live, confirmed on my account on the website. For some reason I didn't get a confirmation text back on my mobile. Lucky I was still by the computer or I wouldn't of known if I was subscribed or not.

Nice sight through Tilehurst under power right behind a turbo. The blue Cathedrals Express headboard brought back some happy memories of 48 years ago. About the same time as the original up Cathedrals as well. Love to seen a "A22" number as well.
Re my last post, the confirmation message came through about 20 mins later for some reason.

As pointed out in the Mayflower thread, posts about today's trips are very scarce, there have been nearly 30 posts prior to this trip but only about 4/5 now it is the actual day. I think the first text on this one came from Hinksy about 10.30, 4 hours in.

And even that (from me) wasn't very accurate! I think I said "0935" when I meant "1035". Oops! Hoping to pop out later to get the re-start from Charlbury. IIRC, it's double-track there now (once more).

There is a light engine movement from Tysely to Worcester this evening, due to arrive a couple of minutes after 5043 has arrived. Anyone got any idea what it could be? The only thing I can think of is an engine to be attached to the train.
