Down through Parkstone at 2001 in plenty of time for a punctual arrival at Poole DH

Thankfully all appeared to go to plan for the return. The train passed Keynsham on time at 15:45 (thanks to John Rowsell for the text) and later I saw it powering up to the summit at Upton Scudamore (very impressive in the late afternoon light). Let's hope that the passengers aboard the Bath Spa Express today thoroughly enjoyed themselves. <BJ>

Thanks for the comment. At the Beckford Road (A36 to Warminster) end of the line, there is a curve. It is possible to take a head on shot.

There is only one thing which spoils the shot, the presence of that blue generator van, if it was maroon, green or crimson or carmine and cream I wouldn't comment, but always looks out of place whichever rake of carriages and locos it joins up with.

The location is great, no vegetation, a clear view and good light. Thanks for linking it.

I can handle a blue kitchen car in the consist but not a class 67 diesel. That is what happened earlier in the day when a diesel
dragged the train from Westbury to Bristol. Let's be grateful that we saw the train at Upton Scudamore without a diesel. <BJ>
