This tour will certainly not be hauled by a Black 5. The train is DBS operated and the only two mainline certified black 5's with air brakes are currently at Ft. William

 

If there are significant changes near to the time, they will probably be posted on UKsteam.info. GWR4090 is pretty good at that, assuming he gets the info in time. Also, if you have a mobile phone, it could be worth a subscription to Railtours Live. Again, not 100% reliable because of relying on other spotters being on the system and sending updates, and on having reception at your location (Shap Wells is OK; Tebay perhaps not; don't know about Beattock summit) but worth the modest cost of admission on a special day?
