VCT's historic Manning, Wardle 0-6-0ST "SIR BERKELEY" celebrates his 125th Birthday at Shildon on Sunday 2nd October.

There will be a special ceremony at 1300 to celebrate this event, including the cutting of a special birthday cake.

Locomotion at Shildon have been looking after the loco all year and we've had lots of good comments coming back to VCT about the engine, so many thanks to the gang at Shildon for keeping him in tip top shape and letting hm have a good time whilst up there!

VCT hopes to see as many friends as possible up at Shildon for this event!

    Ian

I'm pretty sure Sir Berkeley is 120, not 125...

    Richard.

According to all published info I have, it left the Boyne Engine works on 22nd December, 1890, which sort of makes it getting on for 121 years old.
