More possible steam woes?

    With all the issues with main line steam at the moment (ECML etc.) we might have another concern. Unbelievably or not in almost October, possible fire risk! With the current bone dry weather with outdoor temps almost at 30 degrees it could be a possibility as there doesn't seem to be an immediate end to it. The freak weather is as predicted in the Ridiculous Weather thread I started. Ironic considering the 30777 business.

    Is the reason for the "steam ban" due to the weather? Didn't actually say that.

    I doubt it, thankfully, - whilst it has been very warm in the last few days, the last few weeks have been very wet indeed in the Northwest, and the ground in Cumbria is generally in a very damp state, even now.
