Does anyone know why the Brit has been pulled from this and replaced by Kinlet Hall?

I only booked because it was the Brit and 5029 being advertised, yet more disappointment this month :(

    5029 & 4936 can't be a bad combo, surely? :)

You can't be disappointed with this classic pairing. A hall is far rarer over the Devon Banks than a Brit!

I'm no great lover of things GW but that's a tasty combo over the Devon Banks. Heck, if I wasn't off on holiday the next day, even I'd book it. :)

Tasty combo, not so if the train gets turned (again!) to make std at the back all day (again!)..........might as well sit in the front room in that case!

That was an irritating feature of the last few trips we did over the Devon Banks. We haven't bothered with any lately as the prices have shot up.

The fact that the Hall "clears" between Westbury & Plymouth & VV is pretty well the best mainline news this year and bodes well for proper "home territory" loco combinations over the devon banks after previous clearance issue frustrations. Time to use the proper stuff and give all these "furriners" a rest!

(I am of course assuming that the clearances have already been checked)

Oh dear that is a disappointment, lets hope 70013 does the business.

4965 Rood Ashton Hall ran to Plymouth with 5043 as recently as 15 May 2010, albeit from Bristol not Westbury. Assuming at least one of the current problems lie west of Cogload Jn it just goes to show how quickly guaging issues can change as within 18 Months a hall no longer fits.

It only takes a bit of tamping or suchlike and the track moved an inch, then it's out of gauge... It's something that Frank has been known to bang on about, poor control of contractors, allowing them to get away with miss aligning track during routine work. OK so it remains within thelimits of the regular traffic, but slips outside that of the infrequent traffic.

Does anyone know what is being lined up to run with 5029 assuming she is repaired in time?
