4936 sports EXACTLY the same BR Green now that 5972 did if you've a desire to see a Hall in this Livery.

Yeah I know, it was more that I forgot that 5972 was restored in BR livery! Just wondered if there were any pictures of it about in green.

Going off piste for a minute I do wonder what will happen with 5972 once her ticket expires, she doesn't seem to do a great deal so I suppose depends what the copyright situation is? Has she ever run in green (when and where was she actually restored, was it Carnforth) I know there is an Olton Hall plate (wooden I possibly recall) in the station museum at Carnforth.

There is at least one photo knocking around the web of Olton in green when preserved - but it can't have been for very long at all before the Potter job came up.

I have a shot of it running at Grosmont in green on 28th August 1998

It went over the S&C in green in the snow on a tour too. Didn't they have problems with it when it went to the Moors? I seem to recall they couldn't release the brakes and it turned out one of the vacuum hoses wasn't reinforced!

I recall being very surprised once when driving down the M6 to see it (albeit in patchwork green) heading up Shap with a RES Class 47 + stock. Wish I had had a camera with me that day.
