    Evening All,

Along with lots of others, I went to the open weekend at the London Transport Museum Depot at Acton last Saturday. I took loads of pictures and the first selection is now on Flickr. They are in the 'Stop Press! Latest Pictures!!' Collection in the Set dated 13th October and anyone interested to see them will find them here :

There are also some pictures from the actual Museum itself in Covent Garden which I took on my previous visits there.

The pictures will be in the 'Stop Press!' Collection for about a month or so, but they are also in the Railway Preservation Collection which is here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/collections/72157626197106083/

Hope that they are of interest.

Thanks, Acton Depot's a great place. Unfortunately I couldn't make it this time. The amount of stuff they have is mind boggling, and it's far more interesting than their Covent Garden museum, in fact I found the latter quite disappointing.

Covent Garden is a very modern museum, which is great if you want to go and learn about social history and all that. Acton is the place to have a really good 'geek' - the difference is a bit like the NRM's great hall versus the Warehouse (which I always end up spending most of my time in!).

There'll be another open weekend in March and there are guided tours for small groups at the end of each month. There's far more there than can be taken in in one visit. Aladin's Cave comes to mind!

Nice photos Ron, hopefully we can have that Standard Stock train for a run on the Bakerloo one day...I'd love a turn on the handle!

Does the depot have any type of guide (even an A4 printed leaflet? We went a year or two ago and I can't remember! The tram in your photo says Greenwich on the front and I'd like to know where it used to run.

Really must visit there one day, been past it several times both when visiting the adjacent Hearne House and when on test trains. Actually come to think of it I get free access with my work pass...

    Regards,

    Dan

Hello there my name is Sally, I am a female age 32. I am very much into trains and public transport. Especially as London have now introduced their new 2012 buses. which i must admit are very exciting. I was wondering if someone could please put up some recent pics of the London transport museum that i can draw for an art project I am putting together for my local youth center.

    thanks all

    Take care

Have you tried searching flickr? There are plenty of pics of the LTM which should be ideal for your project, good luck.
