Stunning, I very much enjoyed this set. There's a great variety of stuff in there, very much to my tastes. I really, really want to go to the Harz now.........

Very hard to beat with autumn colours and impressive steam power. Were there any specials/ extras during your visit? I went about the same time last year and there was a special with Mallett 5901. The 2-6-2T 6001 was also very much in use on the Selketalbahn. These pictures made me wish I'd gone again this autumn - maybe March is an interesting time with a pretty good chance of snow.

I normally go in February, but we decided to go in the Autumn as well, paid off as apart from the Tuesday morning, the weather played ball and it was fantastico.... Great colours and interesting to see the railway in 'summer' timetable mode so lots more going on, including the passing siding just downhill from Brocken, quite slick working there and a good platform to watch the train blast uphill as the down train waits in the siding.
One special out,on the Saturday morning, with 2 Mallets, which connected with a mainline steam job from Hamburg as a brucie bonus...

Should have been a run out with the heritage train on the Wednesday but that was caped for some reason.
One failure on the Wednesday morning which knocked everything out by an hour around lunchtime, judging by the complicated mime the guy at DAH was doing, something had suffered some motion 'issues'!

Photos look like they are great. But I'll have to wait until I get my BT fibre optic broadband in Decemeber to be able to look at them. Taking too long to download on my tescr.p.net broadband at present!

Would love to go back. Gonna be a very big step going back to Germany without Bobbie for the first time though....................
