Heres my video of the train. Not my best effort, for various reasons but I enjoyed the day.

Three very nice sequences. Many thanks for posting.

I do hope all that smoke suddenly appearing in the second shot wasn't because a linesider had dared to ask for it! LOL!

Bryan, have you, or anybody else, any experience of Brits? I ask because on my video in the last shot at Rewe, have a look under the firebox there is a glow, could it be a fire in the ash pan??

The reason for turning the whole train at PLY is usually that NR will not allow the stock to stay in the station. There is nothing like enough time to stable the stock at Tavvy Jnc, then turn the locos, then get the stock back in, and run round again. On Saturday the railway was blocked from PLY to PAR due to the Liskeard viaduct job. (Sat am until Wed am). The lack of trains gave us the chance to to leave the stock. It actually turned into a brilliant job. Locos were fine, Firemen excellent, and support crews 'very supportive'. Thanks to all concerned. AT

There were no problems on any of the banks on Saturday. If you look at the shot at Tigley, the safety valves were feathering on both locos. They were working pretty hard, without being thrashed. As we came out of Whiteball Tunnel on the return my Fireman asked me if we were anywhere near the hill thats around here somewhere !

Some lovely videos posted on here and on youtube from saturday.

Unfortunately i was unable to drive down, but took a huge gamble to take a service train to Teignmouth for effectively one shot. With a difficult individual having moved on after feeling quite content snapping a 142, a family of 3 kindly got a riddle on to get out the way with only seconds to spare, LITTERALLY!!. The poor bloke didnt have time to film it on his phone, but was delighted to have seen them pass by at speed with his wife and young girl. A huge thanks goes to them for being so polite, you dont get that nowadays.

Please see my shot of the locos coming out of Parsons Tunnel in style

And a edited version of Kings support coach for the sheer hell of it

    A gamble i was glad i took!!

    Cheers

Love the Parsons tunnel shot - you got the sea just right for tide and rougness. I wouldn't want to have it any choppier standing there - it already looks like access under the bridge to/from the parking was a bit hit and miss with the water

No, sorry. My experiences with Brits were right at the end on the Preston - Carlisle and return workings. One superb climb of Shap from the North. A train that left Carlisle at circa 14.00 . I can still hear that wonderful 2 cylinder roar up the grades.

Thanks Steve, yes it was lovely for the water to crash against the side just as they past. As you say, i dont think i would have wanted waves crashing over us on sea wall, may not have made it home if they had.
The amount of people coming from the walkway under the bridge soon stopped, so i guess the tide did call time on them gaining access to the sea wall.

    Cheers

Thanks Bryan, has to be one of my personal favourites as with all the effort getting down there it so nearly came to a non event with people getting in the way!!

On the "King" was Driver, Ray Churchill (I think) and Fireman, Chris Birmingham (confirmed). When I see CB, will get definite confirmation.

Thought it looked like Chris from the footage around Plymouth.
