I suppose it's ok to let the cat out the bag now the event is underway so to speak.

5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe is today working a Moor St - Marylebone & return Charter for Chiltern Railways, i believe (correct me if wrong) as a retirement special for Adrian Shooter, the down run is being undertaken NON STOP thanks to the GUV Water Carrier in just over 2 hours which is very comparable to the West Midland express workings of steam days.

I took a pic of the down non stop working passing Hatton station this morning: http://www.flickr.com/photos/david_1984/6290779137/in/set-72157627777033601

News of this run seems to have been kept very quiet, so i presume it was possibly a suprise.

Unexpectedly saw this tour go over the viaduct just west of High Wycombe station whilst sat at traffic lights by Morrisons at about 11.30am!

Any news of the return times for HW please?

    Regards
    Graham

Off Marylebone at 1615, so around 30 minutes later at HW at a guess.

Good to see the railway industry still knows how to mark the retirement of its most respected members and Adrian Shooter is certainly highly regarded.

The return working is not non-stop with a stop at Warwick Parkway.

EDIT: btw does anyone have any timings for the return run?

New update - apparently 1830 at Warwick Parkway so hardly a non stop express on the return!

    High Wycombe 16:48 16:50
    Banbury 17:39 18:06
    Warwick Parkway 18:30 18:38

I've only been told the stopping points.
If it had got to Banbury half an hour earlier I'd have gone out for it but it's going to be to dark by then.
Never mind, hope all on board have a good day and I'll look forward to everyone's vid's & phot's

Here's a couple of pictures at Marylebone.
A nice last minute catch this afternoon, makes a change to have only a handful of people around.

Any Video Converter is good and free for converting between formats but I don't know whether it can shrink a file that big?

Marylebone looking better now after its wash and brush up. Here's a video from Hatton on the return. She was going well (as usual) but the motorway drowns out some of the noise.

Absolutely.. so manicured is that station I'm sure the staff ensured 5043 was parked with it's rods perfectly symmetrical as well :)
