Nice footage and photo's guys, nice touch with having the poppy on the loco also!

Do we have details of who the crew's were, I guess the Tyesley boys may have been involved as it's there train?

I'm almost ashamed of showing my short and pathetic offering at Hartford after seeing the excellent coverage of todays run, don't really want to single out anyone from the usual gang, each has it's own appeal and style.

Second one of those two clips is superb! Lovely noise and some nice speed. At a great location.

Not that the first clip wasn't good too!

And some other good stuff posted here as well.

Just got back from a superb couple of days with 'Lizzie'; what a loco. :) I've been out of Euston with her, to Scarborough, to Edinburgh and I have NEVER heard her so loud; phenomenal. The northbound ascent of Grayrigg was incredible, just incredible. The 60 mph slack is still in operation at the foot of Shap so the climb there was at reduced speed, as might be expected. Beattock was great stuff in the dark, just listening to her blasting away; wonderful stuff. :)

Southbound, there were quite a few slips at speed on Beattock, Shap and Coppull - damp rails, (it looked like a shower had passed, there was wet sleepers on the down) - or grease is my guess.

I hope someone had a video cam at Lancaster, Wigan or Acton Bridge because 6201 was really shifting I can tell you. ;-)

Throughout the two days, I never heard the duff once, apart from ticking over all the time, even when Lizzie was slipping there was no feeling of a push from the rear, she was left to it.

All in all, she performed brilliantly and was worth every penny spent. My thanks to all the support crew who turned her out so well and made sure she was fit all weekend. I await Mike Notley's log, the power output at times was very high indeed.

    Alan. :)

So after all the wibble about the Diesel being there, it did indeed do nothing as many predicted, wonder what all the fuss was about.

There some great video's and pics on this thread, the NP photography bar seems to be set pretty high these days.

I think Albert Seymour was driving from Glasgow-Carlisle today; and I think Gordon Hodgson drove northbound from Carlisle to Glasgow yesterday. But don't quote me on that! Would be interested to see the full details of who the crews were if anyone has that info.

Pleased to read a couple of comments from those on board and glad they enjoyed the trip.

A special thanks, I think, for the support crew who on Saturday night were scheduled for a two and a half hour journey from Glasgow to Polmadie before putting Lizzie to bed for the night.

Lizzie was a credit to you.

    Chris

Could it be that all those taking and posting their work here have benefited from seeing each others and learnt from them?

Indeed Ralph! I'm reminded of a sign I used have on the wall by my desk 'back in the day' - it read ' A pat on the back is only six inches of vertebrae from a kick in the ass - but far more effective at improving results!'

Hopefully I noted right names and right places but I have Ray Churchill and Steve Underhill Tyseley to Crewe, Gordon Hodson Steve Underhill Crewe to Carlisle, Peter Walker Dean Morris Carlisle to Glasgow, Peter Walker Steve Underhill Glasgow to Carlisle, John Daniels Dean Morris Carlisle to Crewe. Stunning performance from "Lizzie", crews and support crews.
