A great day and on a lot of lines I've never been over or ever likely to do again. Fifteen early into Leicester too which enabled a very rapid return home at Hemel Hempstead via a train to Nuneaton. Well done to Vintage Trains, super stuff. No sun though!

Heading through Desford but taken from the road by the crossing. DJW, glad you found some locations, enjoyed the videos:

The water carrier was being used for carrying coal. There was no room on the locos.

A grand day out yesterday. Many thanks to Vintage Trains for an excellent railtour which I'm sure was enjoyed by all. :)

    My take on the day.

Great to see these two engines loose on the mainline, congratulations to all involved, more next year please :)

Looks like a cracking day was had, shame I wasn't on it! Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of trespass caught in the videoclips of the day? Anyone on the train like to comment?

If your referring to the first clip in Bills video you'll most likely find it was a foot crossing.

Indeed it was and I was quite away back, the lens is still toward the telephoto, I was trying to get it to end up on the rods.

Sorry for the misunderstanding guys, I wasn't referring to anyone on this forum shooting from such a 'bad' position, it was noticed in the background of some peoples shots people can be seen on the lineside in less than choice positons. For example 2:22 in Bills clip? 3:32 and 3:55 in Mattspencers clip?

Yes unfortunately there was quite a bit of trespass on the Coalville branch. As Steve has noticed you can see it in my third clip at Moira.

From an on train perspective - I wuld suggest than a signficant number were locals who were aware of the special (ie they were filming the train on their mobile) rather than enthusiasts.

Well, you make it seem like I was being demanding for an answer. I was just wondering whether it had been noted by people on train at other locations or if it was just 'by luck' captured in the background of Matts video at one isolated incident. It seems like Leicestershire seems to be blighted by it, given what happened with lizzie on the MML last time. I wonder what the VT Melton Mowbray excursion will bring!?
