I see this is now to and from Euston (into Euston at 13:04, depart Euston 16:54 Railway Touring COs times).
In the Last Week, this has been a Paddington, Waterloo & Now Euston trip.
I wonder how 34067 will actually reach there, via Staines & Kew East, Reading, Slough & Acton Main Line etc
I've not looked up the engineering closures in London yet.

By the looks of the future engineering page on NRE unless they try and send it via the Circle Line (which given the current plan of changing destinations every 10 minutes I wouldn't put past them) then any terminus should be available. So I'm not sure why they've been shuffling it around...

I'm quite surprised that they can't find a platform at Waterloo on a saturday afternoon.. rather than trundling to Euston, why not down tools at Clapham or Kensington ?
If a london terminus it must be... how about London Bridge for a change ?

Waterloo is unavailable for a steam charter on 26th November disgorging 400 passengers because of some odd shaped balls.

    What

The RTC website still lists the tour as travelling via Reading and Slough, so will presumably therefore be running to Acton Main Line then cut over to Willesden Junction. Seems a bit of a faff, why couldn't they have just used Paddington like they originally planned?

I can understand that if Southwest Trains actually run additional services to Twickenham thus taking up platform space, but do they? Otherwise I can't see what difference 400 passengers on a steam charter makes.

I am almost beginning to believe the conspiracy theories on this board that some persons unknown are trying to make life very difficult for steam charters in the hope that they'll go away.....

Suspect Tangmere will take water at Basingstoke, then turn off SWML at Byfleet Jc., followed by Virginia Water, Brentford, Acton Wells Jc., West London Jc. before reaching Euston [possibly Plat 16?]. This is the reverse of the route taken by 70013 Oliver Cromwell from Euston on The Swanage Belle (15th October). Not sure where Tangmere turns so will have to see if David has any data on www.uksteam.info

Only times being the following from the Railway Touring Co's site (shown as actual times), with a big gap between Southamptonn and London Euston.
    Outward Return
    Swanage 07:55................22:40
    Poole 09:20......................21:21
    Bournemouth 09:36..........20:54
    Southampton 10:19..........20:08
    London Euston arr 13:04 dep16:54
It's best wait and see what actually transpires.

Tangers scheduled to depart LE just after 1030 to turn at Eastleigh (1253-1315) and return to Swanage around 1515-1530-ish!
Consist is 10 + support coach and is currently residing at Swanage in readiness for Saturday's "World's First" train from Swanage to Euston.
    t1126a.htm Thanks again David.

Tangmere duly travelled to Eastleigh and turned using the depot's loop. On its return to Swanage 34067 was coaled and watered and now waits overnight on Swanage Goods Shed siding.
Not sure if 47760 will remain on rear for insurance (reasonable amount of leaves remain to drop 'down South' and Saturday is likely to be a windy day). At least there's minimal risk of frost tomorrow morning - last year's frosty rails caused 44932 a bit of trouble on gradients along the Swanage Branch.

There's a path from Southall to Euston for a light engine tomorrow lunchtime and back again. Whether it gets used is another matter.

34067 up through Beaulieu Road at 10.06. 47760 idling on rear. It was glorious down here at 9am. Blue skies, sun, no wind, dew on the grass. Now cold, gloomy and windy! Wish I had gone home from work and gone to bed!
