Any suggestions on what may replace 60007 on the above tour, I can't decide whether to book or not? Also, its been a few years since I've done a tour but is the stock likely to be turned at York or will std class be at the back, out and return?
    Thanks
    Steve

70013 is a possibility, since it is hauling the Steam Dreams trip from Cambridge to Oxford 2 days earlier.

Depends on the stock, air or vac braked. 70013 is not air fitted.

Good thinking, its also hauling a Kings Lynn - KX the following day, and a Norwich - York the following week, looks like 70013 is having a mini homecoming! Where would she be based for the duration of these runs? If it does turn out to be 70013 I shall definitely be booking!

Spoke to RTC this morning and they say it will be 4492 DoNZ on this train, I'd almost got my hopes up for a bit of OC!
    Regards

Just seen the timings for this tour. I'm sure there is a logical reason but Bittern comes off at Peterborough and runs to Southall while a diesel takes us back to Cambridge arriving back at Southall only 40 minutes after Bittern. Any ideas why this might happen?

Also its a very early start. It was advertised as half 8 but is now just after half 6. Non enthusiasts may be put off by this a bit!

Could it be to save another water stop and therefore an arrival probably an hour or more later ? a light engine can go further without water so maybe missing out a stop on the way back to Southall.

I think at the moment with ECML Steam it's best to be prudent than push your luck too.

I was thinking that this is a repeat itinerary of the past few years but thinking about it, it isn't as normally loco and stock head off to somewhere near Ely for servicing then run the Christmas Fenman the next day which this year isnt running so everything is going back to Southall

Post on NRM Twitter feed says "No. 70013 Oliver Cromwell will be visiting our North Yard at around midday on Saturday 10 December, and leaving around 17:30...". 60019 not back from Eastleigh in time?

Thank you Ralph - its only a Digital Compact but the burst setting has caught it.
Kept the vidcam in the pocket due to all the cars passing.
Estimate around 60 people at the location.
