Question re: Locomotives of Warner & Co Pig Iron Manufacturers, Cargo Fleet

I was wondering whether anybody could point me in the direction of information about or photos of the locos used by this firm? I'm especially keen to track down an engine named Julia, of which I can't seem to find any record on the ILS list (the most likely candidate, HC No.1682, appears to have spent its working life at Kelkham Iron Works, although the information I have may be incomplete).

 

Looks that way, alas, and most of what they hold seems to be accounts and minutes. A gentleman on RMWeb whose dad used to haul pig iron from the works and has one of the nameplates from 'Julia' (a friend of mine has the other, which is why I'm trying to learn more about the loco) has been kind enough to respond to me*, but I have as yet despite exhaustive searching been unable to find any photos or even information on the loco or the ironworks rail system.

*He reckons that one of the locos was a Sentinel, and so I find myself idly wondering whether it subsequently moved next door to Teesside Bridge & Engineering and is now the "Teesside No.5/Frank Galbraith" in the National Collection. Probably not, mind.

 

Julia was a 0-4-0 Diesel Hydradulic locomotive built by John Fowler (works number 4220023). It was supplied new to Warner & Co Ltd, at Cargo Fleet in March 1963; and cut up c11/1980, shortly after rail traffic ceased.

Sadly the real Julia found out last night that her nameplate had been stolen a couple of months ago from the outhouse in her house in Kent where it had spent the past few years mounted on the wall.

 

Would Fowler 4220033 be the same class?

 

Yes it would. Nice engines, these little Fowlers; I've been involved in a minor way with 4210132 (an externally-similar, but diesel-mechanical version) at Swanage.
