You'll need to buy the gala programme for loco and stock diagrams as well as the freights and TPOs that will somehow be squeezed in with that little lot.

Last year all the movements were listed on the on-line timetable, which was a great help

    Thanks,
    Lewis

    Comes free with your ticket!

Still, All I know is that I should be on the 9:35 out of Loughborough all being well (be nice if it was the N2)

As an aside, does anybody know the rough cost of a taxi from the notwork rail station to the GCR (I asked the booking office and they hadn't a clue!)- I'll have Mrs DD in tow so anything to keep her quiet!:tape2:

15 mins' brisk walk! By taxi? Well there's a firm right outside the main line station, would guess a fiver max, any more and they're truly ripping you off!

Last time I did it a year or so ago it was £3.50. I was on and 4 minute connection, I got on the platform just as the guard blew up... result!

Are all locos working all days - don't wish to drive 175 miles to find out a required loco isn't working that day?

Hope this information can be released in advance please.

    Many thanks

Usually only 3 locos on the Friday, no freights or mail.

the "stars" will probably be working Friday, i.e. the guest engine (M7) with the Ivatt 2 and something else.

Will the M7 be working passenger trains on the Saturday? (I'm not prepared to travel 200+ miles to obtain a gala programme only to find it is stuck on freights, shunting in a yard etc)

Not permitted to go into details on loco allocations unfortunately as we sell the WTT as part of a programme for our steam galas (and they're given away for free with day tickets). However the M7 does appear to be working passenger trains on both weekend days (as you might have expected) - don't know about the Friday though as I've not seen the WTT. Obviously it is likely to spend at least a bit of time on freights though as well. Won't be answering any further requests unfortunately but hope this helps. Suffice to say that the very vast majority of things do a bit of everything - it should provide a rather cracking show.

    Cheers

GCR should at least do what the NYMR does and allow advance purchase of the roster on line, rather than on the day in this era of technology.

    Could raise extra funds?

As mentioned before, would be helpful if it was possible to know what engines are working on what days, not neccessarily on what trains. It will probably be the difference between attending or not !!!!!!
