Certainly helped! Wouldn't have bothered had I not known the 10 was doing a decent amount of passenger trips :)

ELR last weekend, with free roster to download in advance from the website, I am hopeful that KWVR will continue to do this next month along with the ELR again.

Even the much criticised NYMR allow you to buy online!

NVR had online ticket sales last year to beat any delays at the booking office and free roster.

"Coin very much in the air" on this one, 4 days for the GCR to sort it out.

Afterall we all have so much disposable income these days to waste on petrol etc.......

63395 visited a few years ago and the comments are in relation to that year not this . My decision is hanging on being able to acquire a WTT in advance to plan my visit . Even if it only the passenger workings and guidance on what turns and when , it all helps

    Hi,

Please see the GCR website special events page for this gala - it has now been updated with timetables that hold the locomotive allocations for this weekend's passenger trains only. Hope this is of use to all our visitors!

    Cheers

    Alex

GCR might be lucky with the weather if the forecast holds, cool and sunny.

All passenger locomotive diagrams are now available for the weekend after a request to the GM.

My suggestion for the Saturday is to buy your ticket at Quorn fairly early in the morning, the station should be open from approximately 8.15-8.30am for ticket sales, so there is plenty of time to get your ticket before the first train. In addition I have rostered at least two (possibly three) ticket trained staff on duty, so although a queue will form, it should move fairly quickly.

    Hope that helps!

Just to point out, the 5.15pm departure from Leicester on Sunday does run, it is incorrectly highlighted yellow.

I'd also like to add my thanks to the powers that be at the GCR for releasing the updated passenger timetable in advance of the gala.

It would appear that it will not be too difficult to work out the non-passenger movements as well, especially as, for Saturday and Sunday mornings at least, the passenger service is very similar to that offered in the 2011 Autumn gala.

Can anyone explain why some of the locals off Loughborough only run as far as Quorn, then run ECS to Rothley?

The ECS movement to Rothley Brook might be necessary because the following southbound train is non-passenger, therefore nominally non-stop to Rothley Brook. The southbound local then doesn't waste time by sitting in the Up platform at Rothley for several minutes.
